9 ct gold antique shaker locket with marquise cut rubies

These lockets were extremely popular in the Edwardian period and originally kept two precious photos safe and close to the wearer's heart. Today they have often been repurposed as shaker lockets holding gemstones, dried flowers and other mementos. It is photographed with some small marquise rubies and a dried flower to help you envisage possible uses. You can select the rubies, flower or the locket alone from the drop down menu above. The locket is hallmarked on the bail and the rim of the locket itself. The scrolling applied ball and arch design unfortunately obscures both the date and the maker. To change the contents of the locket just unscrew the bail and remove the glass from the rim.
