Antique 9ct gold greenstone/pounamu tiki brooch

This rare treasure dates from c.1890 -1910. The tiki is securely held on a 9ct gold backing and bar brooch - the hei tiki itself is 26mm x 19mm on a 45mm bar brooch. The carving is beautifully executed. It is stamped 9ct on the back. It would originally have had a safety chain attached and one could easily be purchased and reattached if you want the added security. These are an increasingly rare find from our colonial past.
