Rare pair of individual sterling silver salt cellars/shakers - Carl Poul Petersen

This rare pair of sterling salt cellar shakers was made by Carl Poul Petersen. Petersen was born in Copenhagen in 1895, and from the age of 13 apprenticed under Georg Jensen in his workshop for the necessary 5 year period. Petersen later moved to Canada and set up his own firm. These salts date from the 1950s and have been exquisitely made by Petersen. Jensen's stylistic influence is clearly seen. They are in very good condition with light surface scratches from normal use - please see photos. Some of the original internal gilding remains.

They are marked Petersen Hand Made Sterling on the bottom and would make a lovely addition to any sterling collection.
