Darryl Fagence - Moko Bowl 2002
Darryl Fagence
$120.00
This platter, described by its creator as a moko bowl, is a wonderful piece of New Zealand art glass. Its maker Darryl Fagence is still creating and selling his work, though this piece is now sold out on his website.
With a structural engineering background, Darryl started his over 40 year career with glass by designing and creating stained glass lampshades, windows and doors. From there he moved onto making his own kiln and firing bowls and lampshades. After moving from Northland to Auckland he explored a new direction where he discovered his signature piece, kiln fired gold glass which had a unique finish and endless possibilities. These works came in the form of platters and bowls which have proved extremely popular over the years both here and overseas.
This Moko Bowl is in excellent condition and it signed by the artist and accompanied by its original labels.
