Susie Cooper Swansea Spray coffee duo

A lovely little Susie Cooper duo, comprising a demitasse coffee cup and matching saucer. The little cup is tapered towards the bottom and has a lovely handle with a dash of pink glaze. This colour is wash-banded on the inside of the cup which also has a spray of flowers lithographed on the surface to the left of the handle. The design is called Swansea Spray. The saucer has a wide flattened rim, which has been enhanced by the pink wash. It has the Swansea Spray motif in the centre, which sparkles in pinks, yellows and greens. The pottery is earthenware and has a creamy colour. The backstamp on the base says, A SUSIE COPPER PRODUCTION, CROWN WORKS, BURSLEM, ENGLAND  in brown.The set is in very good condition though it does have crazing which is common to these pieces. A little luxury to enjoy, whether on display or holding your morning coffee.
