Victorian Two Gallon Copper Measure

This Victorian copper measuring jug is a statement piece. Alone or in a group, empty or filled with flowers - it will draw focus in a room. It has had a long life and repairs that only add to its charm. As a utilitarian piece it is full of character. There is a significant riveted repair to the rim. It could be polished if that is your preference, but I love the patina this piece has developed over its life. It was made by Thomas O'Dempsey Buss of Hatton Garden, London, a maker often associated with scientific instruments. This piece was handmade and has a brazed dovetail seam. I added some flowers and foliage from my garden to give a sense of its scale. Please look closely at the photographs as they form part of the description.
