L'Illustration Paris - 28 Mai 1938

This large format periodical was produced in 1938, just before World War 2; it focuses on the history of the city, its development, architecture and particular areas. It is heavily illustrated throughout with some sections in colour. My favourite section is roughly translated as Paris, capital of elegance and shows colour illustrations of stylish Parisians in late art deco style. 

The covers are a bit creased and have signs of foxing. The spine is deteriorating but at this stage the cover is still intact and attached. There are some creases to the corners of some pages and the odd bit of foxing but overall it is in good condition given its size, soft cover and the fact it has survived for over 85 years. The back cover has a fantastic vividly coloured advertisement for Renault.
