Antique cranberry glass vanity container featuring enameled insect and foliage

This antique vanity container or pill box was probably decorated by the celebrated Bohemian firm Moser. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The only minor flaw is tiny bubbles in the glass the most obvious one is near one of the insect's legs (see photographs) - the others are in the base - they date from its original manufacture and were extremely common during the period. The gilt brass (ormolu) frame, hinge and latch are all in perfect condition. The highlight is the unusual hand-painted enamel insect in the centre of the lid, surrounded by golden foliage. I think the insect is more stylised rather than a specific species but it is a delightful creation. The perfect piece for an insect lover or a Victorian glass lover.
