Coloured engraving - Villa in the Regent's Park - 1827

Thomas H. Shepherd

$79.00

This Georgian image was initially drawn by Thomas H. Shepherd and then engraved by William Wallis in 1827. It is entitled: ‘Villa in the Regent’s Park; the Residence of G.B. Greenough, Esq. to Whom this Plate is Most Respectfully Inscribed’. The engraving is from Metropolitan Improvements; or London in the Nineteenth Century.  London: Jones & Co.  It depicts a view of Grove House from the west, showing a gardener and possibly Greenough. Grove House was Greenough’s home from 1822-1855, designed and built for him by Decimus Burton.

This engraving has some foxing but is in reasonable condition, given it is nearly 200 years old. Please look closely at the photographs as they form part of the description and ask if you have any questions at all.
